Small Groups
Small groups are a community to grow with. Grow in your knowledge of God's Word and grow relationally with others.
Jesus said in John 13:35, “By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another”. Our community groups are a place to do just that - Be Jesus' disciples and love one another.
We start each night with dinner together. There is something special about having a meal together. Then we move into a time of worship. From there we dive into our Bible study discussion for that week and end with a time of prayer.
These groups are a place to know others and be known. A place to share each other's burdens, a place to rejoice with one another in praise, and a place to look to God and His Word.
We have two community groups: women's group and men's group. This is intentional. We believe in creating a space for each gender to be able to share openly and pray for one another. Men do not typically like to be as open when women are around, and vice versa. So we meet accordingly so that we can foster an atmosphere that is safe and comfortable for each gender to share what they may be going through in their lives. We also divide into gender specific groups because many of us have kids. And we want these groups to be as distraction free as we can and this gives the moms and dads a night off from parenting to be in community with other like minded people, while it also gives that special time for the parent staying home to bond with their kids.
Our desire is to cultivate a deeper bond with others of the same gender. Men leading men, women leading women. But our desire is not for it to stop there. Both community groups go through the same study book and passage of scripture each season. We pray that these studies and conversations would flow into the marriages in our church and cultivate biblical discussion around the dinner table in our homes bringing the abundant life Jesus talked about into our households!
We have 2 seasons of community groups: Spring (February-May), and Fall (September-December)
When we meet: Wednesdays (men and women alternating weeks)
Where we meet: The Wyss house
TIme we meet: Dinner at 6:30pm, study starts at 7pm. Pray and dismiss at 8:30pm.
